A forest guardian who seeks vengeance on those who drove the old gods from the land. An enemy to all things holy, the Druid summons a bird familiar to assist with tasks in your Dungeon and guard against invaders. His knowledge of nature magic makes him effective at both research and combat.

This creature has officially been included as part of KeeperFX, so no need to download it if you are on a recent alpha. Otherwise put the druid.zip directly into the fxdata folder and make a druid.cfg file that uses it.
Special thanks to the FX team and its modders for cleaning some sprites and finalizing the configs.
In the latest alpha patch, the bird cannot establish its lair, and the druid lacks animation in the torture chamber. I just don't know where to write it, so I'll leave it here.
The files have a lair for the bird. This can be added very easily. It's just not my mod. I don't want to edit someone else's work so that there are no complaints. Well, a druid can have a regular torture animation.
Yes, we did add the lair because it is no surprise that some people may want to use the bird as a normal creature and now they can do so easily. But people playing with the summoned bird disliked it when they stopped to make a lair for a second.
I think I'll create copies of the bird and the spiderling for myself. The summoned creatures won't be distracted by hunger, a lair, or anything else, and the copies will be full-fledged creatures with needs and annoyances that will pass through the portal.
I like this character. Could you add druid.cfg and bird.cfg to the archive? The animation names do not match the names in these files. It is not good that you need to manually enter other names. And in general, maybe you should not replace the druid, but call him something else? For example, cultist, shaman or warg? I do not impose an opinion. These are just my thoughts.
This character is already included in FX. This download is here purely for the archives, it has no real purpose. You can find all its data within the FXdata directories. If its for modding purposes, then all you really need are the sprites. Just make sure you are using the most recent alpha release.
Update to the latest alpha of keeperfx, and you will find that this druid replaces the old one. The bird.cfg and druid.cfg have the new animations and abilities there. Also in the latest alpha the summoning ability has seen fixes.
I'm not sure that I like this. I haven't thoroughly played with it yet, but it just doesn't seem to fit the Dungeon Keeper style as well as the other creatures, even the old Druid. It screams "mod!" too loudly.
Also, I'm not sure that this should replace the old Druid; what about maps already using the Druid? Replacing the Druid with this will change those maps.
It would have been easier to provide feedback on what you disliked at an earlier stage about the style of the unit, before it got animated and everything. But come to #modding on discord and provide detailed feedback on what details makes this fit less in your book.
The Druid itself was planned to get the familiar for some time, and the temporary stats I gave him already had the familiar in mind. Now with the bird and reworked stats, it should be roughly the same in power that for most maps it does not matter. For example I have druids on 'Swarm of the Maiden' as a key unit, but for that map either druid skill set would work.
Assmist campaign is a lot more finicky in the balance, so for that one I kept the old stats and abilities. For other maps where the mapmaker wants the old druid, I made it available for download.

Correct. Unfortunately no specific torture animation was made for this one.
The bird and spiderling (from the maiden) are configured to not take paydays or make lairs, since they are summoned creatures.
Everything is clear. The issue is resolved.

Okay. Maybe I don't understand something. It's just that some animations don't play for me. I'll redo it for myself.

The old one was too much a warlock recolour.
People who still want the old one, can find it here: https://keeperfx.net/workshop/item/768/urban-druid
Does this mean we're looking at getting rid of the Time Mage as well? That's just a Wizard recolour.
Nope. Time Mage is a recolor too, but generally viewed favorably, a different type of mage with a different colored robe is fine.
The Warlock itself had a very distinct robe that does not fit a druid.
OK thanks.

Looks very nice. ✅
