This level is also included in my campaign. This standalone version is roughly the same as the included one with only some minor differences.
A singleplayer map with moderate/casual difficulty.
Player (blue) versus waves of heroes and a rival keeper (yellow).
Custom and battle music is included (see note in installation instructions). Comments are welcome!
A great adventure map to relax in the evening with a beverage of choice (or several). Fairly easy, without obnoxious moments, the 1st person section is short and fun, and the ending is exremely satisfying.
Another banger from aqualakitu. Once again with a cool concept and a difficulty well balanced even if veterans will find it easy. You'll have to push forward to claim gold veins and eventually put a stop to the attacking parties. The custom music is a nice touch and creates a very special atmosphere (especially in the western secret).
If I had to criticize something, it'd be the same as Spatulade. The later secrets are usually done after the map has been completed once since yellow is more or less in the way and is kind of a pushover. Still, 5/5 for me.
Thanks! I am re-releasing the map as part of a whole campaign very soon, and I did beef up yellow a little bit in terms of creature count. It's still more of an early game map though. And my goal was making some content that's fit for players entirely new to the game who might've just finished the main campaign. I'm planning to release my campaign around this weekend.
I don't think a lack of difficulty is a bad thing. Too many maps are based on insane challenges where you have to micro at 4 places at once, and I really dislike that. I'm the kind of player who likes to take his time and relax so I'm perfectly happy with moderate difficulty.
I'll be playing your campaign as soon as you upload it!
This mfer gets how to make a good level.
Really, really good. Unique music and player colour immediately makes the level feel fresh, and a good map design that naturally encourages you to push forward and intuitively points you towards secrets and progress. Really really good, the only thing I can think of that was off was after taking the bridge. If you have been converting heroes along the way you are easily stronger than yellow and would probably just focus on killing him instead of getting the other secrets. Despite this, the other secrets were interesting enough to make me reload an older save and get them anyway.
Easy 5 stars from me. Good-ass map.
High praise, thank you very much! I'll try boosting yellow's max creatures slightly when I re-release this map soon, to give him a small edge at least. But I'm glad the balancing and direction otherwise felt good! That's usually what I'm worried about the most, since it's so hard to evaluate that as the map maker.
Nice map, very nice atmosphere and just a fun experience!
It's Deeper Dungeon difficulty I would say. :)
