"Welcome, your new Dungeon lies directly under the surface. Therefore, the entrance in the north will not only let monsters into your dungeon, but nosy adventurers as well. You may dig across caverns and the basements of the nearby village buildings in the east. Your goal is to plunder and claim all those to lure the Lord of the Land into your Dungeon and defeat him."
The first time I saw Dungeon Keeper was as a kid. I watched my uncle play the first levels and got so fascinated that I spend next view days replaying what I saw with Lego figures and Jurassic Park Dinosaurs (as Demon spawn stand in) because I was a child I got some concepts of the game wrong. I thought that monsters and heroes came from the same spot and that you are supposed to build a large dungeon and heroes would come to you. Like the intro of the game shows. I thought of the random rooms you dig across, like the treasure room on map 2, as the basements of over world buildings. I just assumed that someone build a normal house and stores his gold in his cellar.
This map is my try to recreate the game Dungeon Keeper as it was in my childhood memory. The entrance is far away and some hero parties came out of a hero portal, places directly behind the portal. The rooms in the east resemble a village, most of them are supposed to resemble normal cellars with a some supplies. Of interest are the church with an underground graveyard or in other terms a crypt, a thieves den, a prison and the dwarfs mining grounds, a library and the villages well in the middle. I just imagined a stereotypical fantasy village with all the buildings and tried to recreate that. And of cause not all those cellars and basements are interconnected with tunnels. The villagers are not the Vietcong.

PS. my first Map ever Thanks to riseofdofi for playtesting.
This is a very good map and if you hadn't mentioned that it was you first, then I would have never noticed that.
The atmosphere you created with the plot and the surroundings was phenomenal. I really had the feeling that I would invade a small village and their citizens. So engaging! Also loved that dynasty warriors-mass-battle-feeling when you threw those enemies waves against me. Also, I liked that it didn't just happen in the end but also right away, so I had to make use of whatever creatures I had at my disposal. Can't remember the last time I was caught off guard and had to use level 5 misstresses in a fight. Normally I don't let them out of the training room unless they hit at least level 6. Just awesome.
I am pretty sure that each time I see a new map under your name being released, it will be the first one I am going to try out. Well done!
I also gave 5 stars in this case because for a first map this is simply too good.
very good first map. !!! Cant wait til the next map!
For a first-ever map this is impressive! I'm loving your idea of heroes spawning next to the portal, and your captivating lore for the village adds a brilliant touch. Everything flows seamlessly, and I applaud your work on your first-ever map. You absolutely deserve my 5 stars rating cause I want to encourage you in making more maps! Keep it up!
Cozy, standard map, though with a bit of a tough start. After you've dealt with the third and fourth party from the Entrance it gets easier thanks to all the gems. That Lv8 party can be really tough though! Especially if others happen to arrive at the same time (like the ones triggered by gold and research).
One nice improvement would be giving zoom positions to all the messages!
I like it overall, the backstories for the hero parties are actually very cute
Zoom on Events is done and party timing is improved. Thanks for the feedback.
Thanks! Great stuff
Liked the start and the ongoing troops from the portal :) after that it was quite chilling nice Story -Telling :)
