Description

Updated the map file to remove reveal map and add a little extra Gold in the middle encampment

Use gold at the start wisely before the snowball late game

You enter a canyon carved by a great river used by humans for trade for centuries.

They have become far to comfortable...

Plunder their river outpost for wealth and stolen knowledge, then head northwest into their hidden underground caverns before launching an assault on their mountain stronghold. The great volcano holds the secret to infinite wealth.

Creatures are restricted at the start but the map should be pretty easy and good for players who like to chill and go at their own pace. Lots of hidden treasures and useful creatures to discover throughout.

My first map so I just made something I would enjoy playing.

Cheers!

Since it's your first map I wont be too strict. ;)

It was a fun play, but you could've made use of parties and drops more.

1/5 difficulty 3/5 overall

The imps keep heading south into enemy territory to kill themselves.

Hmmm.. I didn't notice any pathing issues on my play through. Maybe you are ruling with too much of an iron fist.

A new map, in this timeline?

I'll try it right now. However, there's a reveal map that you probably forgot right next to the Heart. I won't be using it.

Maybe a message telling us more about that realm would be good too when we start playing.

So, after playing for a little while, I'm taking a short break. I've conquered the middle part of the map, however gold has run out and there was not much to pillage inside that fort. I've got 4 Dragons, 2 Biles, 2 Beetles, 2 Spiders and a Time Mage (thanks to the special).

So I have to put everything in the workshop and slowly go back to 10k gold so that I can use the Destroy Walls spell which will take a while. I didn't overtrain considering what was guarding the final room here. May I suggest adding more gold to pillage in this dungeon?

I'll finish it later.

Thanks for the feedback.

Maybe because I knew the map but I found that there was enough gold especially if you find the hidden caverns of hero's to kill that drop a bit of cash. Having said that I didn't play with dragons and used 7 walocks (cheap) level 5 and kited until I got destroy walls with about 30-40k to spare.

I wanted gold to be tight and creature count to be low so there could be somewhat of a challenge before the snowball takes effect later on.

There is also a hidden mistress you can pick up early...

I've not played the map, might give it a look later though. Just wanted to pitch in a thought, that often other players who aren't familiar with the map will use more gold than the creator does when testing. I think even in a map where gold is tight from my personal experience, it's good to give just a bit more gold than you personally needed when making the map, to make it play smoother.

Great tip - cheers!

I'm a slow player, but I tried to be on the offensive anyway (and because I had to, thanks to opening paths I didn't want to. I agree with aqua, and also when testing you should avoid using any secret since you already know where they are and some people might miss them in my opinion.

Now that I've got the gems under control, I'm set for life but before that, it was a bit slow. Especially since there are no attacking parties. And also because of the creatures I chose to keep, Dragons are greedy little shits. I could have paid them by hand but that's cheating.

I'll finish the map soon and comment here once more once I'm done!

So, I just finished this map.

For a first map, it is not bad at all. The beginning is the most interesting part as you have to use your limited ressources and fight sometimes overwhelming forces. Without a Sight spell, progressing too quickly can mean disaster. But progressing too slowly will force you to use a tedious workshop economy.

After you get the usual OP rooms, you snowball out of control and even the gigantic army guarding the hero Heart will fall easily.

4/5, nice first and simple map. It'd be nice to have parties/heroes spawn in instead of having everything being already present on the map. Bonus point for not abusing traps.

2/5 difficulty for the beginning.
