New Map out: Traphouse
includes various new traps. play first against them and later with them ;)
already playtested by dofi and krizzie (thx for that) and now it's even better !
What still needs to be done: the shadows are not done yet from custom creatures, this will be fixed someday.
You'll find the Map as a standalone mappack in "Free Levels"

*Turret -> a weak but fast attacker
*Cannon -> shots a slower Meteor
*Flametrap -> has a fiery breath
*Flailtrap -> you don't wanna come close to that
*Freezetrap -> freezes enemy instantly
*Grapplehooktrap -> buildable on bridge-islands it can isolate enemys over lava
*Cave in Trap -> has a heavy detonation that is strong as cave in
*Beartrap -> as strong as the Bolder trap but is very well hidden
*Lightningtrap -> the stationary Mistress ;)
*Windtrap -> the stationary Witch XD
for modders interesting:
my traps use shots/powers from the magic.cfg where the number needs to fit the number of the shot or Power. They need crates in the object.cfg, they also have effects from the effect.toml
the shot value 255 means that they can shot infinite
i tried to balance the selling value and the manufacturing levels/requirements

It took me a while but here is my review, as promised:
Traphouse is a map that, unsurprisingly, is all about... traps! What caught me off guard, though, was the first creature to enter my dungeon: a goblin?! And not just any goblin, but a DK2 goblin! Without giving too much away, I can say that the goblin wasn't the only new creature that enhanced my experience while playing this map.
As with most of this developer's maps, Traphouse takes the classic DK1 experience and elevates it to a new level, allowing returning players to enjoy the nostalgia while also experiencing something fresh. It's as if DK has undergone a remaster. The level of detail dedicated to the environment is outstanding as always. The new interpretation of gameplay elements isn't limited to new creatures and environmental decorations but also introduces a completely revamped trap system. There are an overwhelming number of entirely new trapsβsome reminiscent of those in DK2, while others are completely unique. Players who enjoyed traps in the original will definitely get excited about Traphouse.
However, the map's biggest strength can also be its biggest weakness. At times, navigating the trap-riddled corridors toward the heroes' base can feel unnecessarily slow and repetitive. In particular, one type of trap made me reload my game quite frequently as I lost some of my most precious creatures to it, simply due to a few seconds of inattention. Since I've never been a fan of traps in DK, I occasionally found it challenging to continue leading my creatures to victory.
That said, this shouldn't deter new players from trying out this map. It's a very well-crafted map that will appeal to a variety of players, especially those who had favorite creatures in DK2 and those who enjoy a good trap-focused challenge. Nice work!

New traps are gud, but usability feels kinda limited within this map. Any plans to release them as standalone?
