DK is one of my all-time fav games - it's the first game I ever convinced my mom to buy for me when I was like 11 years old or so. Every year I replay the default campaign for nostalgia's sake. I've never played any other custom campaigns, but I've done the Deeper Dungeons.
I LOVED this campaign.
The cheesy level dialogues/voice-overs grew on me - I hated 'em at first, but after a while I felt they fit well as a Good mirror to DK's default campaign's dark humour.
I enjoyed every level. They're pretty much just straight-up brawls with one or two curveballs - I liked the level where you started with just a thief . The level where the two keepers are constantly slugging it out in the middle is a fun concept - and one I lost because of pure hubris. Fantastic! The final level is just a pure piece of power-tripping first-person dungeon-crawling joy . I had a lot of fun with that one.
It's a great campaign for anyone who just enjoys straight-up melees and fights. There are a few levels that require a bit of sneakiness and basic mechanics knowledge, but they're sparse.
I gave it 5/5 for the campaign itself in terms of enjoyment, and 2/5 for difficulty - if you've got even basic familiarity with DK, it's a lot of fun, and doesn't rely on any gimmicks, but there are a handful of levels that are nail-biting. Just an all-round fun, relaxing campaign.
Things I liked:
Quick ramp-up in terms of rooms/creatures available - no drip-feeding. You very quickly gain access to all rooms/creatures. The first few levels don't have Call to Arms, but I kinda liked that in hindsight
Fun level design overall. Some are a bit rough around the edge - literally - but you can see the author has put a good amount of thought into it
Bit of a power-trip; some maps just give you tons of resources and say "go **** things up"
Watching the original's desolate campaign map slowly heal
Absolute cheesy voice-acting; it grated at first, but I came to like it
Some suggestions:
occasional breaking of the 4th wall, nothing serious, but I personally didn't care for being told X creature was "best at the game" for Y
some levels don't have a victory message. I like to see some random comments thrown in after you've done all that's needed, not just a "success, the land is yours!" type message
a few spelling / punctuation issues (very minor!). Steak =/= stake. But I'm nitpicking.
Give it a try if you enjoy DK's baser elements of just having a proper raw slugfest!
An easy and relatively simple campaign. Most levels with enemy keepers are rushable due to an abundance of transfer creature specials. If you looking for something relaxing that you can beat without much effort this is a decent choice.
I enjoyed Good Campaign, its different and author added some lore for every map. But it has flaws. Main one is difficulty. I didnt feel challange in all 11 levels with exception of one. There is several levels with Transfer creature which let you rush some levels. I am kind of guy who just use this because level offer it and Author gave me opportunity to use it so I do. In one level for example is Multiply Creature special but you dont even need it. It is almost like Author was afraid to not give player big advantage because he could lose the levels. I could beat enemy keeper even without it just fine. Another thing I realized when I was writing this: several rooms were not really utilized or needed in campaign. Also need of usage Keeper spells was very limited. To give rating, I would say difficulty is 1/5 and quality is 3/5. I think author could do a lot more with some with Hero creatures to actualy use certain types to win the game. Every level felt basicly same with creature/hero composition you have.
It's an easy campaign, but after beating the game, it's worth to continue here to know better the heroes, also it's fun to play with them. I really liked this one. 5 star

It's not an overly complicated campaign. There are a few good levels, otherwise pretty average.
I like it. Not rush. Just a good, funny game.
