A quick, random skirmish on a small map.
Eagle-eyed players will recognize this map from DK2. This is a single-player version featuring a random AI (selected from a handful of standard behaviors), which starts with 5 additional creatures at low levels.
To avoid an immediate rush from the AI, his access to the Bridge is locked behind research, which only becomes available between 3 and 8 minutes. These 2 small random elements help make the AI less predictable.

Good to know:
- The first portal provides 15 creatures (20 for the AI), the second adds 3, and the third adds 2 more. Each portal slightly increases the creature generation speed.
- One Horny is in the pool, if you play long enough to attract him via the Temple. (His level is capped at 5, just in case.)
- Reinforced walls follow DK1 rules, but the Destroy Walls spell is researchable for both sides.
Credits to Erminio for the DK2 textures downloaded from the workshop. I briefly considered using all available DK2 units as well, but that would have required too much balancing work, as they are only templates. For a small, quick-play map like this, it didn’t seem worth the effort.
Change log: 22/03/2026:
- Added a Hatchery for the AI in the 5x5 available empty room, the AI doesn't use it otherwise. Also makes the AI attract the Bile Demon earlier, buffing the AI slightly which is a good thing. (@Krizzie, thanks for the tip!)
- Added a Treasure Room around the AI's portal.
- Increased AI starter units by one level.

Remove or give the AI a room in the empty space, it wont use it otherwise.
A Hatchery maybe, since he wont make a new one if the two smaller ones are not sufficient anymore.
great idea! He will attract additional Bile Demons easier that way, but that isn't a bad thing. It really isn't that hard to play now ;-). Not even sure why I came up with this small idea as a little break on my bigger project, but did it anyway as it was a easy thing to do actually.
