After taking a break from playing Dungeon Keeper, "Ruunt" was the first map I played, and it was an exceptionally enjoyable way to get back into the game.
In "Ruunt," the player primarily faces a series of incoming hero waves, a challenge made clear from the beginning. This aspect encouraged me not to wall myself in but to push forward and explore other parts of the map continuously. This created a feeling of natural progression.
What I really liked about this map was that it provided a decent challenge without overwhelming the player. There were no unnecessary downtimes that could lead to frame skips, as there was always something to do. Because of this, I never experienced any stretches of boredom.
I enjoyed this map so much that I felt a bit sad when the final wave came. It felt like the grand finale was over too quickly. Still, "Ruunt" remains a very memorable and exciting map for me, and I highly recommend it to any returning Dungeon Keeper player.
Some points:
-The Temple makes the "waves" part mute
-The north part of the map is very empty
-Not much pressure or risk of dying when Temple is researched (Basically, turtle till you can pick off the roaming parties)
