Die Hard Dungeons is big campaign with 25 maps and some are over 1 hour long and you will probably have multiple failed attempts. Maps mostly look fine visualy and are interesting. I really liked bonus levels as some were unique. Campaign is definitely not easy with very hard final groups and challenging keepers, unless you rush them or connect them to heroes who destroy them. Common theme is also being attacked by heroes early and constantly while your creature limit is low, like 15 for example so you really have to check what type of creatures you want to keep and who to kick.
I agree with what Chris said in his comment below mine. As you progress in campaign some things starts to repeat and dealing with several avatars multiple maps in row is not exactly fun experience.
I played all campaigns which were rated lower than this and you can really see difference in quality vs 1 star rated ones, but is it enough for 3 stars? I dont think so. Difficulty is 4/5.
Finding another 20-level map pack filled me with enthusiasm, especially as I had a lot of fun with the first few levels. There was a good variety of gameplay throughout the early stages, and I thoroughly enjoyed my time playing this campaign. However, around the midway point, I noticed that many of the mechanics started to repeat themselves, resulting in a feeling of copy-and-paste. While this is understandable when creating a 20-level campaign, it was somewhat disappointing.
The biggest issue I encountered concerned the AI behavior of the enemy keepers. In most levels where I had to confront one or more enemy keepers, they were so eager to dig through the entire map that they often unwittingly stumbled upon high-level heroes hidden throughout, leading to their premature demise. This issue was sometimes so severe that I barely had time to play a map for 10 minutes before receiving the message that the Lord of the Land was approaching. Consequently, I had no choice but to spend the rest of my time walling myself in and training my creatures for the final battle.
Additionally, the sheer number of Avatars I had to battle towards the end of the campaign was not enjoyable, as I was essentially forced to rely solely on mistresses/vampires for the last part. As a result, difficulty did not stem from strategic or clever gameplay but rather from the sheer power of my army, which I found somewhat disappointing.
In conclusion, if this campaign had been shorter, I would have had much more fun playing it as it would have avoided most of its shortcomings.
I always thought this was a decent campaign. I have been working on getting it ready for inclusion with KeeperFx (for many years).
there finally finnished the campaign and wow!! that was a tough one. had to replay almost all levels a couple of times beacuse this is HARD! i consider myself quite a good DK player but this is hard. is this campaign fun? in my opinion its to hard and kinda wonder off the gameplay as its meant to be. is it challenging? yes. this will put your name to the test. Very well made campaign. Good job on that!
