Description

The map demonstrates the Mysterious Box system I designed, featuring up to 32 different effects to play with. All effects are available from the start, and each box reappears immediately after use, allowing you to try the same effect multiple times.

Also included is a text file with full details of the system, which you are free to use and modify in your own maps. For more information, refer to the 'MysteriousBoxSystem.txt' file. No credit is required—enjoy!

/!\ Warning /!\

This map may trigger seizures for individuals with photosensitive epilepsy. The Wrath Box and Diverted Wrath effects should be avoided by those with photosensitivity, as they rapidly chain the Lightning power with intense brightness.

Installation Intructions

Extract MysteriousBoxSystem_FINAL.zip and place the 'map10088' files in the 'KeeperFX\levels\standard' folder or in your personal folder if preferred.

Note that the latest alpha build is required for proper functionality or it may not work correctly.

Update 2024/11/29: Made it compatible with KeeperFX 1.2 latest alpha.

Update 2023/07/02: Fixed minor issues and typos.

Update 2023/05/05:

  • Fixed an issue with Mysterious Box always discovering "Pandora's Box" effect.
  • Fixed an issue with "Backlash of Conquest" effect.
  • Fixed an issue with "Ragnarok" effect.
  • Changed "Oops!" effect to something more interesting.

I found a solution for the Lightning's flash.

If you read this and it's a problem for you do the following: Go to KeeperFX\data folder, check for lightng.pal, rename it _lightng.pal to keep it as a backup. Then in the same folder look for dogpal.pal copy it (keep the original!) and rename the copy lightng.pal

Now the Lightning's flash are replaced by a less bright gray flash.

Nice of you to include an epilepsy warning.

Maybe a video would be a good addition to showcase these.
